1975-1987 Roots

Bridging Europe and Latin America

Educated in a German school (Hölters Schule) in my native Buenos Aires, at the age of 12 I emigrated to Barcelona, where I still live, building links between European and Latin American culture.

1994-1996 Internship as creative copywriter

Seduced by creativity, I discovered strategy

Fascinated by the advertising creativity of the ’80s and ’90s, I did internships as an advertising creative at Saatchi & Saatchi (Barcelona) and McCann Erickson (Madrid), where I discovered that what really motivates me is designing the strategy to decide WHAT to communicate.

1993-2005 Market analyst and strategist at an institute

Philosophy to be a strategist?

Advised by strategy professionals, I studied Philosophy (UB) with the goal of learning to analyze and understand reality, always asking myself the whys and wherefores of things.

Working and training as a strategist

With the idea of dedicating myself to strategy, I started working at Tàctica, a Research and Strategy Institute in Barcelona, and at the same time taking a Postgraduate course in Strategic Communication Planning (URLL-Blanquerna) to give theoretical substance to what I was learning through daily practice.

Falling in love with qualitative market research

I discovered qualitative market research as an essential basis for any strategy, fell in love with its ability to capture human motivations, and at the same time learned to integrate it with quantitative research.

Discovering the world of trends

My curious nature led me to create and manage the newsletters Táctica E-News and Táctica Foresight, allowing me to keep up to date and learn about new trends.

Touching every sector

I worked with big and very diverse clients, especially in the FMCG, B2B and nonprofit sectors.

And learning to manage projects and teams.

As a project manager, I learned how to lead projects from start to finish, and the delicate art of managing teams.

2005-2023 Independent consultant

First steps as an independent analyst and strategist, …initially for intermediaries

In 2005 I started offering my services as an independent market, trend and strategy consultant to Marketing Consultancies, Market Research Institutes, Advertising Agencies and Field Networks. I experimented with different methodologies and techniques, especially in the areas of FMCG, B2B and the Third Sector.

…. and then also for brands and manufacturers.

My collaborative nature led me, from the beginning, to surround myself with other professionals, with whom the Victoria Scarpato Research project was to be forged: In 2006 I created the Spanish Team, a team with all the necessary professionals (recruiters, interpreters, note takers/transcribers,…) to carry out end-to-end market research in Spain, thus being able to offer my services also directly to brands and manufacturers.

First nationally

In 2009, I created the Spanish Association of Freelancers, a group of market analysts and related professionals (strategists, design thinkers, data analysts,…), allowing me to take on larger projects and ensure the viability and availability of any study.

…and later also internationally, with special emphasis on the health sector.

In 2010 I entered the international market, thanks to multi-country studies in the field of healthcare, working with analysts from Europe and other emerging countries and thus gradually creating an international network of collaborators, giving rise to Victoria Scarpato Teams.

Fusing Research with Innovation

In 2017 I collaborated with a Design Consultancy to lead co-creation sessions on the basis of my expertise in moderation and consumer behavior analysis. I fell in love with the creative capacity of Design Thinking and, after training in Creative Techniques, added Innovation to my portfolio of services.

An international and very talented team

Working for decades on large projects in Spain and on multi-country projects has allowed me to work with freelancers from all over the world. And my collaborative spirit has led me to seek out synergies. So, after years of collaborating with them, I have selected the most talented ones to create my own team of regular collaborators, always personally coordinated by me.

We offer studies in Spain, Europe and the rest of the world, always working with local partners and residents in the country where the study is to be conducted in order to guarantee a real understanding of the market and culture.

We select the most suitable professional for each study, thanks to the interdisciplinary nature of the team, with experience in different sectors (FMCG, Health, B2B and the Third Sector) and consulting fields (Market Research, Trend Analysis, Strategy and Innovation).

Thanks to the presence in the team of data analysts, quantitative analysts and neuromarketing experts, whenever necessary we can complement qualitative findings with data that allows us to extrapolate results.

Even with multi-country studies or those involving several professionals, I always act as project coordinator and sole point of contact with the brand, facilitating the management of the client and ensuring control of each phase.

I also make sure to keep the team informed from minute zero to avoid any possible loss of information along the way.
